• The PA State Chapter of Children’s Advocacy Centers and Multi-Disciplinary Teams is hiring!

    The PA Chapter of CACs and MDTs provides support and leadership to Children’s Advocacy Centers and Multi-Disciplinary teams across the State of Pennsylvania. Led by its Board of Directors, the Chapter is committed to delivering high-quality services to support all CAC members, while assisting with the development of CACs and MDTs where none exist in the state.

    We are currently seeking a Communications Manager to oversee office operations and to be responsible for promoting the work of the PA Chapter and Children’s Advocacy Centers across the state.

    The person filling this position will work with a team of dedicated colleagues to positively influence the availability and delivery of services to children in Pennsylvania.

    The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors’ Degree in communications, public relations, non-profit management, or a related field, and experience in marketing and public relations, including social media, media relations, and print media.

    Depending on geographic location of this hire, the position may be remote/work from home, or in the Chapter’s office.

    Salary will be up to the mid-forties, and the position includes health insurance for the employee.

    COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

    The Communications Manager is a multi-faceted position with a focus on supporting Chapter staff and all Chapter activities, while also leading marketing and communications initiatives for the Chapter.  This position will be a key part of a dynamic staff/board team that seeks to improve and expand services for abused children in PA through strengthening and sustaining effective and impactful Children’s Advocacy Centers and Multi-Disciplinary Teams.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    Support Chapter Staff and Activities

    • Support day-to day operations of the Chapter in a partially remote office environment, assisting with communication and information sharing among all staff
    • Assist with scheduling of meetings and appointments for Staff and Board
    • Support Chapter training and technical assistance activities. Maintain materials and prepare documents and presentations for Chapter trainings. Work with hotels to schedule meetings. Maintain a calendar of all training events.
    • Support Chapter Peer Review and Mentoring programs
    • Oversee funding awards to members, including Travel Stipends and Scholarships
    • Assist with communication to all Member CACs, maintaining updated Member contact information
    • Maintain contact information for Board of Directors
    • Prepare and mail annual dues invoices to members
    • Maintain inventory of equipment and office supplies
    • Support remote/virtual trainings and meetings held on various platforms including ZOOM.

    Lead Marketing and Communications Initiatives

    • Work with staff and Board to create and implement an annual marketing and communications plan to elevate the Chapter’s mission and vision with member CACs, citizens of PA, and prospective donors
    • Create marketing campaigns to promote the work of the Chapter and CACs in PA. Consider a campaign that can be co-branded with member CACs.
    • Implement a comprehensive social media campaign for the Chapter
    • Support an update/overhaul of the Chapter website, working with web developer
    • Manage the Chapter website, updating weekly and ensuring that all information is accurate
    • Create an Annual Report for the Chapter
    • Create monthly newsletters to be used with Members and the Public
    • Maintain relationships with media outlets across the state. Write media relations materials including press releases and media advisories and organize press conferences.
    • Consider feasibility of recruiting and supervising a Media/Marketing intern

    Oversee and Maintain Chapter Database

    • Update and maintain database to enable Chapter to track, manage and report out on all Chapter activities including training and technical assistance activities.
    • Use database to track and manage pass-through grants to member CACs.
    • Work with IT consultants to create and manage donor database as a new component of the existing database.
    • Assist with surveys to membership, gathering and tracking information received.
    • Create reports as needed from the database.

    Other Duties may be required as needed.

     

    Skills Required

    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

    Strong ability to collaborate with others and receive feedback.

    Knowledge of public relations writing and AP style.

    Knowledge and experience with social media marketing.

    Proficient at using Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Google Docs.
